This activity is to help you understand some commonly used connectors. Read the text carefully and, from the provided list of options select all statements that apply. Click on the "Teacher" button to learn more about the conjunctions that will be used in this activity.
1) Read the text and select the statements that apply/are true by clicking the box next to each statement. 2) When you finish selecting the statements that apply/are true, click the "Check Answers" button and review the feedback. You have three attempts to identify all of the statements which apply/are true. 3) Once you have finished, click the "Why?" button for each statement and review the rationale for why a statement either applies/is true or not.
The statements basically appear in the same order as the content they refer to in the text. Pay attention to logical connectors such as 包括, 其实, 以及, 虽然......但是, 例如, 因为, and 然而 which appear in paragraphs 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8.
Look for the connector 包括, meaning "including" in paragraph 2.
Look for the connector 其实, meaning "as a matter of fact" in paragraph 3.
Look for the connector 以及, meaning "as well as" in paragraph 4.
Look for the connector 虽然......但是, meaning "although...(but)" in paragraph 5.
Look for the connectors 例如 and 因为, meaning "for example" and "because" in paragraph 7.
Look for the connector 然而, meaning "however" in paragraph 8.

In paragraph 2,

According to paragraph 3,
